Our Privacy Policy,
Written To Be Read
We install water softeners. We're not a data business, and we've never sold a customer list. This privacy policy sets out what Treasure Valley Water Solutions collects, why, who else touches it, and how to make us delete it.
Effective date: 18 July 2026. Covers this site and what we record when we test water at your home.
What we collect, and the moment we collect it
Information reaches us three ways. You fill in a form, you call or text, or we're standing in your utility room with a test kit.
The form on our booking page asks for your name, phone number, email and service address. Whatever you type in the free text box arrives exactly as typed. Tick the SMS box and we store that you ticked it, with the date and time, because that record is what makes a later text to you lawful.
Call instead and your number lands in our phone like it would with any trade, short notes beside it: what you described, which town, city water or well.
The test produces the most detailed record we hold on anyone. Hardness in grains per gallon, iron, pH, total dissolved solids, plus the plumbing itself: age of the water heater, the dead softener under the stairs, where the main line enters. That's a record about a building, tied to your address. What we look for is on our water quality page.
Your browser also hands an IP address and referring page to every site it visits, ours included. We read that in aggregate, never backwards to a name.
| What we hold | Why | How long |
|---|---|---|
| Name, phone, email | Booking your test, answering you | 24 months from last contact Delete on request |
| Service address | Reaching the right house, tying readings to a building | Life of the equipment, 24 months for enquiries |
| SMS consent record | Proving you agreed, and when | Kept after opt out as proof of it Required |
| Test readings, site notes | Sizing equipment, comparing future readings | As long as we service the system |
| Invoices, install records | Warranty claims, parts history, accounting | Per accounting and warranty rules No early delete |
| Aggregate site traffic | Seeing which pages get read | Never built into a profile of you |
How we use it, and what we won't do with it
We use it to answer you, reach the right address, size a system against real readings instead of a guess, install and service it, and keep the paperwork a licensed business has to keep.
What we don't do: sell or rent contact details, pass your number to lead brokers, or profile you across other sites. If we wanted your readings in a case study on our about page, we'd ask by name, and a no ends it.
Most companies in this trade treat a free test as a lead they can resell. We treat it as a diagnostic. Your readings belong to your house, not to a marketing list.
Consent is the basis, and you can pull it back
Nearly all of this rests on you choosing to contact us. A narrower slice doesn't. Once equipment is in your home, we hold the install and warranty file because a contract and accounting duties require it.
Withdrawing consent needs no reason. Tell us and we stop contacting you. But note the split: stopping marketing is immediate, while wiping a warranty file often isn't something we're permitted to do.
Text messages, and how to make them stop
Give us a mobile number and tick the box, and we may text you about scheduling, arrival windows, filter reminders and service follow ups. That's the whole list.
Agreeing to texts is never a condition of buying anything from us. You can book a free water test, get a quote and have a system installed without ever ticking that box. Reply STOP to any message and you're opted out, with one final message confirming it. Reply HELP for contact details. Frequency varies with your job, and message and data rates may apply through your carrier. We don't share your number or your SMS consent with anyone for their own marketing, and we don't sell it.
Cookies, fonts and the translate widget
This site sets no advertising cookies and runs no tracking pixels. Two things do get stored in your browser.
One is your accessibility choice. Change text size, contrast or motion with the accessibility button and that preference saves to local storage so the next page remembers. It never leaves your device. The other is a cookie named googtrans, recording the language you pick so it carries across pages.
Two requests also go to Google on load: fonts from Google's font service, and the translation script behind the language menu. Both make your IP address visible to Google, under Google's terms rather than ours. An extension that blocks third party requests stops both, and this site still works.
The outside companies that touch your information
We rent tools instead of building them, and name them by function rather than brand, because vendors change and a policy full of brand names goes stale inside a year.
- A scheduling provider runs online booking, so the details and time you enter pass through their system first.
- A form delivery provider emails us your contact form, so its contents cross their servers in transit.
- Google Places supplies the reviews shown here, already public on Google, displayed rather than collected.
- Email, phone and accounting software holds customer contact details in the normal course of trading.
Each is a processor acting on our instructions, not a buyer. If a new vendor changes how your information moves, we update this page and its effective date.
How long we keep things
The table above is the real schedule, not an aspiration. When a period ends, contact records get deleted rather than quietly archived. Not shuffled into a backup folder either. Ask early and we delete early, and we'll say plainly if one record has to stay behind and which rule is keeping it there.
How we protect it
The site loads over HTTPS, so anything you type is encrypted in transit. Email and scheduling accounts carry strong passwords and multi factor authentication where the provider supports it. Access stops with Brandon and the technician who needs that job.
No honest business promises perfect security. Here's what we do promise: if a breach ever touches your information, you hear it from us directly and quickly, in writing, with what was exposed.
Your rights: see it, fix it, or delete it
We don't run a two tier system based on your zip code. Whichever privacy law does or doesn't cover you, we honour access, correction and deletion requests from any visitor who asks.
Children's privacy
This is a website about water softeners. Nothing here targets children, and we don't knowingly collect information from anyone under 13. If a child has sent details through our form, tell us and we delete it, no justification needed.
When this policy changes
We rewrite this page when what we do changes: a new booking vendor, a new form, a new way of contacting you. The date at the top is always the live version. Material changes get flagged rather than slipped in, and a new use never applies backwards to information you gave us before.
Talk to a person about your information
There's no privacy department here. There's Brandon, a phone and an email address, and your request gets handled by the same person who'd show up to test your water.
- Phone or text 208-602-3161, Monday to Friday 8am to 6pm, weekends by appointment.
- Email tvwatersolutions@gmail.com, the fastest route for a data request.
- Mail: Treasure Valley Water Solutions, Meridian, ID 83646.
We collect the least we can, use it to fix water, and delete it when you ask. If reading this made you want to talk to us instead, our services page covers the work and the home page covers who we are. The test is still free.
No charge, no obligation
Find out what's actually in your water
Boise, Meridian and Nampa tap water typically runs 8 to 15 grains per gallon. Soft is under about 3. We bring the kit and tell you your number.
