No, and anyone who tells you it will is guessing. A softener exchanges hardness minerals, calcium and magnesium, and that is all it does. Nitrate needs reverse osmosis at the drinking tap or nitrate selective anion exchange for the whole house. PFAS need carbon with real contact time, resin built for them, or reverse osmosis. Those are different machines, chosen from certified lab results, not a field kit.

Yes, because nobody tests a well but the owner. Roughly 5 percent of Idaho groundwater monitoring sites exceed the EPA nitrate limit of 10 mg/L, and arsenic and uranium occur naturally in Idaho ground, notably in Canyon County wells. None of those has a taste, smell or color, so a well can look perfect and still carry a load you would never accept if you could see it. A test is the only way to know.

We come to your home, spend about 30 minutes at the kitchen sink, and run the samples in front of you so you watch the numbers come up. There is no charge and no obligation. Private wells are a different story, since no agency checks them. Safe is a question you answer with a test, not a brochure.
